Messages are plain text unless you add one of the HTML elements listed below. Markdown and BBCode are not used.
A line beginning with one > is shown as greentext.

Every opening message and reply has a public number such as #123. Write >>123 to link to it. The link works across threads. If that number does not exist or is not visible to you, the text remains unlinked.
Each new post currently accepts one file. Write attachment:1 or [attachment:1] where it should appear. If no slot is written, the attachment appears beside the message. An invalid or repeated slot remains visible as text.

Ordinary formatting elements do not accept attributes. Links accept href and title. Link addresses may be relative, or use HTTP, HTTPS, mailto:, IRC, IRCS, XMPP, SSH, or Mumble. The font element accepts a named or hexadecimal color, sizes 1 through 7, relative sizes -4 through +4, and a simple typeface name.
Scripts, embedded objects, images, forms, CSS, event handlers, and unknown elements are displayed as text. Broken or improperly nested formatting is closed at the end of the line so that one message cannot damage the rest of the page.
