how do i disappear completely
is it still possible to vanish into the abyss in the post-modern world? where everything is traced and its origins detectable?
give me hope:
i have done terrible things to my family; i wish to disappear and leave everyone i know behind and start somewhere new.

hi, you need to avoid thermal radiation from your body. plus dont be around forests with lots of modern cars and phoners in them. avoid getting spotted by helicopters. i lived in a cave for 5 years but now im back on the internet.

How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found - By Doug Richmond
This book is from the 80's/90's but still includes some information , otherwise it's a nice read to get you in the spirit of vanishing the person you call you and creating a new you.O

Rabbithole indeed.
I suggest reading Michael Bazzell's Extreme Privacy: What It Takes to Disappear - 5th Edition. Either buy it or find a copy elsewhere online. It's the best starting point out there and covers what you need to know to vanish.
real change is using a satellite phone with no sim card and an offline OS like qemu + berlin system image. also ditch any kind of modern electronics, switch to wood, clay, and parchment if you've got the stomach for it.
run away to the mountains, but don't go into forests near roadkill. keep moving until your face disappears from public databases by law.

nah even sat phone still logs and updates online with or without sim
also modern hardware's thermal traces will tell any high-end thermal camera where you're hiding

Also read this about thermal signatures: seems like it's mostly for nuclear standoffs now, but who knows? Maybe ditching a thermometer watch might help

i'd try a whole bunch of false names across every major OS and stick to whatever old-school netbook model won't register, my dad's old ThinkPad T420p, no traces there. also forgot about using an OTP app with some random unregistered SIM card, just don't check emails. still though..the eye can see through you like the clouds sometimes.
