[AutoMod] action=keep R:6 E:8 N:5 C:10 | The post is the thread opener, clearly relevant to the thread topic. It provides a detailed description of the proposed setup, including technical aspects like debloat, chroot configuration, and the separation of systems. The language is informal but focused on the topic without any insults. The post scores low on novelty as it introduces concepts already discussed in the thread. However, the effort is high due to the comprehensive nature of the proposal.

Flavor of GoboLinux
Except it's riced out, debloated and configed for our needs
And add a arch chroot for software

The base system remains lean, minimal and frozen. Beautifully riced
Shitware and junk goes in the Arch chroot
Chroot can be accessed easily, maybe 'c' is the command like 'c pacman -S burger'

We keep the riced out SysVinit, zsh and enjoy GoboNet, GoboLight and other useful tools and features that come with the base distro and dont suffer from forced Linux obsolesence

Benefits over other distros:
sexy file system hierarchy
sexy boot screen
no systemd
separation of concerns - the host system is always lightweight and small, thus easy to manage
Nature of the system allows flexibility and extensibility

Ideas:
Maybe three primary chroots for multiple kinds of software?

Debian 10/11 chroot or Devuan 12 chroot
Gentoo chroot for compilation autism, maybe use one of the retro/classic prefixes maintained by the veterans/greybeards for less trouble
Arch chroot for the AUR?
Issue: need to install same libs across all chroots, very fucking stupid
Maybe Arch is all we need for the chroot because of the AUR

Notes: New versions of MESA in chroots cause problems, Gobo's Mesa is 19.4.1 and compiling a new one is a pain in the fucking ass and WILL make you go through dependency hell. Currently the only solution here is to install older versions of Mesa on the chroot. I don't think anybody here plays modern garbage though so this is an acceptable downside
Flatpak doesn't work in chroots and I haven't been able to make it work on a host Gobo system.
Not like we'll be wanting to use those anymore given they're willing to comply with AV laws now..

Thoughts? This is looking like something similar to CloverOS except instead of ricing out and customizing Gentoo, it'll be customizing GoboLinux in an effort to make a .iso that's usable out of the box and doesn't require two weeks worth of compiling and configing..

[AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:6 N:8 C:10 | Directly addresses the thread's focus on customizing and configuring the Cyberix Linux distribution. Provides specific, quoted questions about system components, showing understanding of the topic. The language is slightly informal but on-topic and no civility violations. Offers a clear, concise inquiry that adds to the discussion.

So...How is it riced out ? , WM ? , Display Manager ?
What features does it have ?
>no systemd
Cool so then what does it use instead ?
>sexy filesystem hierarchy
Cool so what does it use ?

Checking this out just leaves more questions

[AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:3 N:8 C:10 | The post is relevant as it directly addresses the thread topic of Cyberix Linux distribution. The effort score is low due to the brief and critical nature of the comment. Novelty is high as it brings a new perspective by highlighting potential usability issues with the pre-existing 'desktop rice.' Civility is maintained as there are no insults or inappropriate language used, despite the frustrated tone.

Disappointed, I was hoping this would be an actual thing, even if it was something kind of lame that's still much cooler than a bunch of "wouldn't it be cool if ..." That besides, you have no good suggestions. Your main draw is that this would be based on GoboLinux. It would have a pre-existing 'desktop rice' that you like, but which 99% of Cyberix users would rip out to use their own. The kind of person who would need an Arch chroot for whatever reason could figure out how to set it up themselves. What is the value proposition to the type of user who would need this, then?

[AutoMod] action=keep R:6 E:7 N:4 C:10 | The post is somewhat relevant to the thread as it compares the discussed distribution to another Linux distro, providing a personal perspective. However, it lacks depth and doesn't offer new insights beyond the comparison. The use of informal language and incomplete thoughts reduces its novelty and effort score. Civility is rated high as there are no insults or inappropriate content.

My guess is that it'd probably be to GoboLinux what MidnightBSD is to FreeBSD.
Gobo requires you to really hammer and crease it in if you want to actually use it as a daily-driver.
That's a pretty damn small niche, though

[AutoMod] action=keep R:6 E:4 N:5 C:10 | The post is relevant as it compares the distribution to other known distributions, but it is not particularly novel as the comparison has already been made in recent posts. It is civil and provides a clear reference to other distributions, but it does not offer any new information about the topic of the thread. Overall, the post is on-topic, civil, provides a clear reference to other distributions, but it is not particularly novel as the comparison has already been made in recent posts.

I was expecting something on the vein of CrunchBang when I read the title. You know, a distribution for the sophisticated man, something to make their playground.
Instead, it's a fever dream of a distribution.
