There are more anime's out there that are both old and fit the trope you're looking for. Even the studios behind those respective shows have made other ones that are inherently very similar to one another. If you want to be mega autistic you could search old /a/ archives and actually find out what anime 4chan was watching, because 4chan at its core started out as being an anime website.
Now I don't watch anime however I do have to agree, new anime just looks shit.. either its weird shit or hypersexualized characters.
