And turns out I am not alone in this. When I was learning Russian I found out that the shorter variations of a word are informal meanwhile the longer variations are formal

( shorter words carry less respect than the longer version of that word )

Point is: say "thanks" instead of "thx" and "what's up" instead of "sup"

I tend to type in full sentences. I also try to spell all my words correctly.

I often chat with someone who violates basically all the rules that I follow.

He/she uses verbs such as "to loose friends" and currency amounts such as "100$".

I correct anyone each time I find these mistakes and he/she takes it in good humour.

I get annoyed when I see people schplunk their choice of words. And it's not a good look when you want to sound knowledgeable or smart, either.

I'll keep writing 100$ because that rule is dumb and I hate stuckup americans.
