Daily reminder that when you write about the Internet, you should write the "I" in "Internet" as a capital "I", not lower-case. "An internet" is just a network of network, meanwhile "the Internet" is THE Internet, a network of networks that connects every network. As the Internet gears towards becoming more split, i.e. becoming a splinternet, which is something the mighty and rich want, this distinction holds more and more importance, because the open, free, and all-encompassing Internet is written with a capital letter, meanwhile state-regulated, closed, surveillance, and splintered internets are written lower-case. I think it's important that people are aware of this difference and write it in their texts correctly. This is not a pedantic grammar/spelling nazi thing, rather than a difference in language that divides the corponet from the free Internet.
