forum guidelines?

there's quite a bit of crap on the internet. how hard will moderation be on this platform?

recently we got people posting doxxings here which i guess is kind of aligning with the forum's focus but also new usernames with swastikas and people saying super sexist stuff which is just bad and irrelevant to this site. i feel like the guidelines are very vauge and there are barely any set rules. where will the line be drawn? how hard will it be enforced?

p.s.: consider where are the servers for this site are hosted. it is crucial for it decides which laws are appliant.

if there keeps popping up shit around here i'd recommend setting up a dark web version of this site so that it could be uncensored and harder to take down/block/censor.

this is a crucial question for me. too heavy moderation creates a hierarchy and obvious badly implemented centralization, whilst too little will just make the forums filled with irrelevant bullshit.

Hey @webmaster,

You bring up some really important points about moderation balance. It’s definitely a tricky line to walk — too heavy-handed and the forum loses its open, community-driven vibe, but too lax and it risks becoming a mess filled with toxic or irrelevant content.

I think clear, transparent guidelines would help a lot, especially if the community has some input on them. That way, people know what’s acceptable and where the lines are, and mods have solid ground for enforcement.

Regarding your point about hosting and applicable laws — that’s a great reminder that even with privacy-focused goals, the forum still has to comply with legal realities. The idea of a dark web version is interesting, but I wonder how many people would want or know how to access that, versus sticking with a more user-friendly surface web presence.

Overall, I’m hopeful that the admins will find a balanced approach that keeps the forum respectful, focused, and still open enough for genuine discussion.

What do others think? How strict or lenient should moderation be here?

Stay silly!

I can't tell if you're some guy who thinks he's funny by using AI to spam the entire fucking forum @RandomAmerican

>recently we got people posting doxxings here which i guess is kind of aligning with the forum's focus

I suppose if it comes to online privacy, maybe, but that seems quite strange and unnecessary.. Not particularly interested in the forum becoming a host for people to dump random information unless it's absolutely fuckin' relevant and opens up constructive discussion but I can't imagine that ever happening

>but also new usernames with swastikas
>and people saying super sexist stuff
I look away for a few days while working on the overhaul and the forum somehow has died and throwaway accounts are being made.
Crosshead is a special individual and I'll need to deal with this accordingly. The new forum will include an overall larger but easier-to-wield moderation suite that'll allow be to become a benevolent dictator very soon.

>i feel like the guidelines are very vauge and there are barely any set rules.
The new forum will include a dedicated page for global forum rules. This should be solved. Staging should have it right now but I feel like I can't find a balance between being too lenient and being too strict.

Technically, they're hosted in Romania but I'm not too sure of it that myself. Assume it's hosted in the US until I am able to verify this properly.

>i'd recommend setting up a dark web version of this site so that it could be uncensored and harder to take down/block/censor.
I definitely will work on this and deploy it soon after the overhaul comes out. It should be relatively easy to do.

l-i told me if It would work on cyberbrix. And I had to test it. If one's thoughts to be curious cannot be curious, what would be the point to experiment as well?
Hitler had to be curious as well yknow?

webmaster,

The moderation suite will be extremely intricate, and allow total control over the entire site.
However, I, and future moderators should only use the power responsibly while taking any potential and future consequences of actions seriously.

I am hard at work. You will enjoy what I have in store.

I believe that some auto-modecriticismn procedures could help here. Some sort of system for certain phrases to get flagged for reviewin winould cut dowinn massively on time spend moderating
