I have a problem

I know this forum isn't really the place for this kind of stuff, but since most if not everyone here shares some of the believes I decided to post it here

One of my "friends" is thinking about becoming Trans. And I don't know how to convince her not to

So there's this girl I met long ago in a game. She friended me on Discord and we used to talk a lot with each other.

We stopped talking for a while (and by a while I mean months or maybe 1 year) then I remembered when I used to talk to her and thought about going for a conversation (also. to clarify, we were not in a relationship I was simply friends with her)

I talked to her a bit then noticed she had changed her pronouns from "She/Her" to "He/Him"

I asked her about it since one of my friends recently also changed his pronouns, but it was because he lost a bet with one of his friends

I was actually surprised to find out she was becoming trans. I was and still is very against it and talked to her about it

throughout the conversation I told her if she doesn't like me talking about this topic, she can simply tell me to stop talking about it but she never told me to

I mentioned a study about trans suicide rates being over 40% and kept telling her it's a bad idea and she told me she didn't do any surgeries and all she did was change her pronouns

she has done literally nothing besides change her pronouns

It's common for kids to have a phase like this now. Some get out, some don't, some are yet to. That's life now. It won't really make a difference to you unless she starts harping on about it all the time, otherwise it's not a big deal. At least this isn't one of your close IRL friends starting estrogen, that's when it gets awkward. It doesn't sound like you're close anyway, so I'm not sure why you're so concerned.
Also your point about suicide rates makes no sense. It's not like when you choose the trans upgrade your suicidal ideation stat gets boosted, it's an extremely complex and individual problem. I'd wager much of that number is actually because transness is comorbid with being extremely jacked in plus bad mental health not necessarily related to being trans.

Anyway, thanks to you, Cyberix gets to have it's first transgender thread. I'm surprised it took this long. We just have to see whether the meltdown is big or massive.

I'm not

what if she realizes it was just a phase after making permanent changes to her body?

What

Honestly I wanted to edit \ delete this thread or at least posted it as anonymous

Then she'll feel like a massive idiot and have to live with that mistake. It's like teen pregnancy, you can't stop everyone from screwing up, tragic as it is that's just life. It's unlikely you'll be her saviour anyway, talking with trans people about them being trans feels like walking through no mans land. Our culture has made it impossible to approach it earnestly because things you say can easily be interpreted as right-wing talking points. I am sure you meant well, but mentioning 'suicide rates' can mark you as a right-winger in anothers eyes (since it's a common topic in those circles), thus in their eyes anything you say is invalid.
There's nothing you can do, she needs to figure out whether this path is right or not and decide herself. People do worse things to themselves, at least she isn't on heroin or onlyfans. It really isn't a big deal.

I've been checking this thread for flamewars and bad-faith arguments, where are they??? My popcorn's getting cold you cunts!
