Lainchan and other imageboards are compromised

What is this site? Arbitrary deletions, strange bot-like staff behavior, other ridiculous behaviors. They recently deleted my near 2 year old thread (pic related) wiuth several hundred replies

after I said I suspected the site could be a largely bot maintained honeypot / social experiment.

I've been here since 2008, they don't learn to think no matter what you tell them. I think that most people are bots or so braindead they might as well be considered synthetic.

The thread I referenced went into those types of manipulation mechanisms, astroturfing, and so on. Anytrhing of any substance on Lainchan is deleted. Therefore I want to know WHAT it IS. What IS that site. Because it IS NOT what it purports to be.

Here it's a different story, but still not what it purports to be. In a different way.

Really just seems like engagement farming, and chan related traffic is actually relatively low. The only alternative is that the average person is so obscenely low quality that I have to consider them a different species.

/q/ is full of shit like this. They never responded to that poster, they never will. They can delete any post outside of /q/ pointing to a /q/ thread, but never bother to explain themselves in /q/ itself.

Another anon made a different thread asking where my other (many) long and detailed threads went, and that was full of silence for a time, then briefly the same slimy lying bullshit, then nothing.

How about the topic of bioelectromagnetics and magnetobiology, huh? Oh, no. Banned. That's pretty cyber right? Nope. Whole topic, banned. No discussion. No reply. Thread after thread deleted, people ask about it, no discussion, no reply.

This is another example of lying. Shit like this. It's like dealing with a bot on the phone. They don't comprehend anything you say and jsut loop the same dumbass reply over and over.

The chan and imageboard concepts are inherently compromised and severely flawed. I suspect 4chan was created as a parallel "hivemind" model to DARPA Lifelog (which became facebook). They were always intended to work together and to allow them to correlate and cross reference what groups say amidst each other and with anonymity.

On the chan conce4pt itself, many of us were basically tricked as children and teenagers. Strip away all the personal bullshit and you have something very simple. A platform where people are pseudo-anon to each other, but not the site's staff and anyone they give access to an interface to monitor such things. To an admin on the site, via your global poster ID which is tied to your IP, all of your posts across all threads on all boards would appear as one single thread. You could have people, or bots, monitoring things at this level and jumping in anywhere they want to nudge or apply stimulus, then monitor to see if there's a change in behavior down the line. Repeat as necessary. This is the fundamentals of cybernetics, modeling a system of feedback and control. Furthermore you could train an AI on individual posters and how they act with anonymity, you could gauge degree of influence and engagement by watching how many replies they get and how often their images are reposted, and so on. Botswarms could follow people around and either damp or amplify them.

All from a level of knowledge that is obscured from all other posters. Again, we are "anon" to each other, but not the site's staff. They can see it all, all of your posts across all boards, and who everyone is across threads. And all the while, we cannot. How is that anything other than a creepy and totally shit design? Lot of trust required.

I'm ambivalent regarding the moderation on lainchan. On one hand it sucks for the reasons you listed, on the other hand it is quite good as there is virtually no spam/cp crap/pol crap like most other imageboards out there.

That said, I especially hate how little transparent it is. On nanochan derived imageboards, the moderation log is public. Not only is it good to see what sort of things the mods delete, but it also allows one to see the replies they might have missed. On lambda+js, one can even continue the discussion as the threads are never really deleted (only CP and scams links and attachments get deleted).
