Artistic Pieces
It's your least-favorite moderator, and I am here to see what you fellas of the Cyberix Network think of art pieces?
Here's a common one people may like, known as "Saturn Devours His Son", what're your favorite pieces of art?

Well, honestly, i reckon art's gotta have more than just those fancy lines and colors. What about what's in the heart when it gets down to that?
Like, if you can't feel it, even if it looks pretty? Nah, art's about making people stop and think for a sec, what matters beyond the frame.

I enjoy the visual arts very much myself. Let me show a few of my favourites I've seen at my gallery. These are all my own pics by the way, sorry they are low res and noisy. I used to use Photoshop with RAW files, was comfortable with it, but I don't use that anymore. Just used Darktable to lens correct and denoise, but can't quite get the denoise settings right.
Anyway, first one is probably my favourite portrait ever. It has an intense personality and feeling, and the eyes have a peculiar deepness.
The second, I just enjoy this idea for a painting. It's kind of an interesting inversion, where paintings typically represent the subject itself, here it is merely the icons of the subject. A creased picture of Mary, a marble looking Christ with very interesting lighting. It's a very skilled and provoking painting. There were others by Mallerini I enjoyed, I wish I took photos of them as well.
The third, I know this may be peculiar, but I really love still life. I like studies of boquets most, but this one with fruit was interesting to me. I can't put my finger on what it is.
The last I want to share is noteworthy, as it's the only current, contemporary work I have ever thought was good. I'm not against modern art, I enjoy plenty from the first half of the twentieth century, but from Warhol onwards I have no interest. This artwork is called 'Speculum' by Studio Smack, it's a reimagination of Hieronymous Bosch's 'Garden of Earthly Delights' with 3DCG art.
Poor quality camrecording of the whole work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdffgJ9mVk8
High quality video of the middle panel 'Paradise' in 4K https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTAhrGABtMQ
Unfortunately there are no HD videos of the other two panels. Studio Smack kinda sucks for this.
This work just has a lot of interesting ideas in imagery and aesthetics.
Yeah, art""'s got to be about more than just pretty pixels. Mine""'s got that weird half-finished vibe from when I tried to paint a dog mid-sleep mid-leaf on my iPad with a dribble of watercolor left over from my last failed attempt at a sunset. Still stands out in my studio.

A dog mid-sleep isn't exactly my idea of fine art, but I'd still call it weird, like that time my old MacBook Air overheated and crashed mid-updating system fonts, and the next morning my wallpaper was a glitchy, half-rendered version of a 1998 anime character. At least that's something surreal.
