Japan weighs age-based filtering on social media to combat addiction
In my opinion this will only affect the lowest of the low fucking most technologically illiterate mega retards who literally use "I don't know how to use computers" as an excuse to just be lazy and have a more competent individual do boring shit for them.
My 75 year old grandfather uses some shitass desktop computer I salvaged from the trash and upgraded for him. He used to use Linux on it but I then installed Windows 10 LTSC for him because he needed some obscure Windows software for his work. Installed all programs on his computer with Chocolatey (got it scheduled to update all his software daily). He barely needs my help at all.
I got my wife, which is basically as normie as you can get without becoming a fucking braindead degenerate, a used Thinkpad T470 and she had no problem switching to a Gentoo install I set up for her with Brave, GIMP, and MS Office 2007 running through Wine, and she even found LXQT more appealing and easier than KDE or XFCE. She now uses a ZFS FDE FreeBSD with Librewolf, GIMP and Wine64 (no multilib) for MS Office, and uses Poudriere to compile all her software like Gentoo. She doesn't fucking know what any of this means, she just knows to run the command I taught her once a month and leave the computer on for the night.
My fucking mom and sister however don't know shit about computers and don't fucking wanna bother. When I had less time to help them with stuff they just flat out stopped using their computers. They'll probably end up getting the Neo and honestly fucking good for them.
GrapheneOS is the only example of good tech that's usable (what the wife and I use), and within the Linux/UNIX PC world there ain't nothing like it.
