[AutoMod] action=keep R:8 E:8 N:7 C:4 | The post offers a strong, opinionated take on community moderation and rules. The tone is aggressive but the core argument is relevant to the topic.

Let me start out with this:
There are fucking discord servers out there where they have like 27 individual overly-specific rules that are all there to prevent very specific edge-cases not covered by other overly-specific rules, like "move off-topic conversations out of general when a more relevant discussion comes up" or "don't say [specific list of words]" or "don't raid this server" or whatever the fuck. It's a community guideline, not the fucking bylaws of a nonprofit organization. You never need more than like, 5 rules at a maximum

And the more rules you have the more you get annoying twerps who try to find loopholes in them and cry out "mod abuse!!!!!" whenever a moderator doesn't follow the exact letter of the law or whatever

I'm sick of that shit. It's what turns communities into cesspools. Moderating isn't a profession you need to be licensed for, it's a chore, like doing the laundry or raking leaves. Someone's being an asshole in #linux ? Ugh, gotta expend 3 seconds of effort to ban them, then I can go back to smoking pencil shavings

Yeah, there's an easy way to solve this, delete your discord account and let the tranny retards be.
