Awesome desktops guys!

Mine is a bit messy; I've had to blur out my username, need to fix some browser related issues, anonymity and stuff, etc.

But overall I'm happy with it.

Can you post dots? I really want to try an IceWM setup like that, most of my older machines also use Devuan. I'd love to know more about your setup

Cool is that really still the real IE running lmao

Nice haiku theme and BSD. Would love to try something like that out sooner or later so let me know more about the setup :)

Well most things are in the neofetch :) The gtk theme should be in the ports I believe but I don't really remember anymore. The icons can be downloaded from pling.com and the e16 themes can be downloaded from github. The file manager is rox-filer, leafpad and ee as text editors, gpicview for photos, audacious for music, profanity for xmpp and hexchat for irc. Everything else that I use that I didn't bother including is either gtk2 or cli because I refuse to use anything else for the sake of consistency and of course keepassxc is the command line version.

KDE 2.2.2 on Debian 13. This port's been unmaintained since late 2021/2022 and was done originally by sandsmark. I've gotten it to compile recently, it's a bit buggy but otherwise does work as a desktop environment, though sadly the kde2-kdeutils module wasn't really ported with the exception of klaptopdaemond (or whatever it's called).

Old screenshot, it's my personal dwm build. I still have it, I just use KDE nowadays, but considering it'll drop X11 support soon™ I've been thinking of going back.

What's with Linux mainstream projects and wanting to get rid of things that just work?

How do you make Linux look like Windows XP?
I know of a theme for xfce but I really dislike that DE
Also how do you make different programs look the same? VLC looks completely different than my web browser for example even with the same theme applied

>>3690
I don't know about windows XP but for theme just have to use GTK applications (GTK2/3 is best with GTK2 preferred).

For these programs see:
https://digdeeper.love/articles/software.xhtml
https://www.lakiweb.net/article/gtk2-software.html (this one is my article but it is WIP)

It really sucks that you have to use older software on Linux just like you do on Windows if you want a good experience
Makes me wish for some kind of utilitarian software revolution

>>3690
There is also the Ice2K project for IceWM that makes everything look like a pixel perfect XP classic theme setup, complete with recreated programs and whatnott
