Cyberix should stop worrying about activity and popularity

Quality over quantity. The act of lurking more. I'd rather frequent a site that produces high quality information/threads every week over one that churns out shit 24/7.

Who cares if everyone and their hellspawn on the Internet isn't aware of this site? The people who seek to ascend in life and technology will be the ones who will be interested in what we all have to say, not the tech illiterate masses.

And if anything, they don't deserve to know. Only those who seek technological freedom, mastery, and independence will find value in what's here.

truth, we don't need to have all of the retards on here nor do we want it.

> The act of lurking more
How about not wasting time and energy at pointless lurking and do more productive stuff instead?

>How about not wasting time and energy at pointless lurking

In regards to the Internet, could you explain what exactly would be more productive in the context of integrating into an online community? Lurking doesn't waste time, it's informative and beneficial to the lurker.

It allows users, especially newcomers, to learn the unspoken norms, values, and standards of a place and community. When they finally do post, they’re far more likely to contribute meaningfully instead of derailing threads with low-effort shit. The poster who lurks first usually brings higher signal-to-noise when they eventually engage.

As an old member of this forum, this has been completely true.

Yes, the forum DOES go into a mode where they would wanna go for activity and popularity.

Even countless times where I have seen it happen.

Nothing else to say here but that's that.

Sounds like cringe, snobbish elitism. No wonder people left forums to move at social media.

Look man, you're acting like this is some kind of sanctuary. I'm going to be brutally honest, so far all I've seen on this forum are mini essays about the state of the web, and comments devoid of any real value. Maybe one day it will grow into something more, something beautiful and precious, but right now, we have no right to consider ourselves special.

Anonymous - Sep 10 at 01:57:06 #51409

This is true, there isn't really much separating us from everyone else. I have hope for this site and really wish for it to grow, but we need a way to stand out

Pretty much this. At least I'll aknowledge that the admins/mods actually allow you saying whatever you want even if they disagree with you and whine about "muh high standards". Also it allows you posting anonymously without needing an account.

In the old days, there wasn't much of a forum, it was hosted to use "Roblox Freedom Distribution". (old links were related as ip/home.html / cy-x.net/home.html)

only the beginning of summer, maybe middle of summer or later. We had a forum for shit, I was the "Third Member" but to make a post, you'd need to make an account.

Now, everyone is able to post. We came from a far way as a whole, even if it was a hell for the Admin.

But as I was saying, even in the middle-point of where we had accounts to make and such, the Admin never even disagreed once about "high standards" or any of us saying something that could be listed as "Outrageous".

Let this be known once again, as most of the forum's topics begin to slowly fade back to RESURGING, which coincides with the site's administration establishing their opinion and ban on pro-pedophilia content/views.

Quality over quantity. Don't let such a pattern discourage you. If this is the consequence, don't fret. They would be a net negative on the site in the long run.

Anonymous - Sep 14 at 03:47:25 #51486

who are you talking to

admin ## ADMIN - Sep 14 at 12:19:33 #51487

There is definitely a rhythm here when it comes to the activity of the site, but I am not worried about it at the moment.

On the contrary, we just have more lurkers than posters. If you take a look at the unique visitors count, you'll notice that we're getting 100 new unique visitors each day.

Nothing to fear - they just don't have anything to post right now.

Anonymous - Sep 15 at 02:12:56 #51493

perhaps we need to drop another banger and advertise Cyberix in some kind of way

Anonymous - Sep 23 at 19:27:55 #51639

new rules, i respect them a lot. i like the effort going into making cyberix stand out against 4chan and altchans who dont really try to stop the issues that caused 4chan to decline in post quality

bumping this to the top so everyone can be reminded that less is more and more and less when it comes to places like this

>Sounds like cringe, snobbish elitism.
Would rather have snobbish elitism over a free-for-all anarchy website with trash all over the place

Anonymous [Tor] [DATACENTER] - Sep 24 at 05:24:43 #51661

>effort going into making cyberix stand out
not a lot of effort necessary
the core concept already works, as proven by other sites (like 4chan).
but the mistakes of other site teams (that lead to the downfall/deterioration) are so big it should really just be enough to stick to the basics, and it should work out.

Anonymous [Tor] [DATACENTER] - Sep 24 at 05:29:28 #51662

>would rather have elitism
it's not a dichotomy.
and if you want a pseudo-intellectual circlejerking community so bad -- go back to Reddit, or a place like LessWrong.

Anonymous - Oct 1 at 04:05:02 #51809

Hopefully removing views helps this idea out. It's definitely an improvement

Anonymous - Oct 12 at 15:58:56 #52211

Don't let these newfags alter the site to turn it into another altchan cesspool.
>>52149
Prioritize quality over quantity. If they don't want to assimilate, then that's on them.

Anonymous [DATACENTER] - Oct 12 at 16:47:25 #52212

Is this thread all gpt bots? What a chore to read. Like a womens knitting group of gossiping bats.

Fact is your website isnt anything without its users. Dont bore me and ill feed you my content. Youre failing so far.

Anonymous - Oct 12 at 16:48:54 #52213

>>52212
very subtle bait

Youre not gaslighting anyone into thinking you arent the brownskinned nigger admin samefagging

Anonymous [Tor] - Oct 12 at 16:56:32 #52215

>Dont bore me and ill feed you my content
Stupid underage faggot. You make threads because you have something to say, not because people jerk you off.

Anonymous [DATACENTER] - Oct 12 at 16:57:43 #52216

What a fucking retarded mod

Anonymous - Oct 16 at 13:05:15 #52270

The new internet is just so overwhelmingly vast and damaged one's expectations. A website only updating once a month; a chatroom with only 11 users... that was normal.
Now with infinite scrolling and social media it feels like the old internet "died" but what really died was people's ability to log off for more than an hour. Cyberix is fine.

Anonymous - Last Saturday at 12:22:21 #52588

i don't think stealth advertising on /g/ will make this any better tho. Fuck zoomers and fuck everyone who still uses javascript faggot shit. take it away and everything will change
