Being anonymous is a good thing but 4chan is really the only good site for it
Altchans get raided and can't be funded so this site is the only option and its been long dead for like 20 years now.
Most altchans are also massive fucking shitholes by default primarily because of how the cultures all tend to originate from this shithole specifically
It's a tragedy because imageboards are such a great format but the userbase has almost always been subhuman
And 4chan was probably always a psyop, at least by the start of the last decade.
On that note, it probably is true that the internet has intentionally gotten smaller. Competitor sites get killed or bought out and people are forced to go on a handful of sites. And then everyone's info gets tracked and bought.
As much as I hate most imageboards, probably explains the raids on the smaller ones. Raids that borderline into illegal.

I disagree. There are several imageboards with a worthwhile and persistent community, and they are better than 4chan by a long fetch. If you actually think that all imageboards are derived from 4chan's culture, you haven't been looking for long enough. Similarly spam and raids are practically non-existent; you get twice a month CP spam, but that gets removed quickly, and is the only problem there in regards to spam or raids.

An anonymous board in our current times means being beholden to various factors unrelated to coordinated shills, discord groups or outright nefarious members that may or may not be the person who you replied to, meaning you should refrain from posting here and spend that time elsewhere. No, (You)'s are not worth the hobbies you are foregoing for this spike I just gave you. Do something else.
When I quit 4chan (again) I searched every chan I could for a replacement. One of the last ones I tried was lainchan, it looked perfect and I saw a thread full of other people who left 4chan. I decided it was my new home. Then pretty quickly I realized that thread was 3 years old and it's basically a dead board.
