I don't understand why it's the "hype" around specific brands people enjoy rather than the quality of the product itself.

While they mention issues with brand chocolate and the prevalence of cheap pastries, there's little new insight. The post is civil and directly addresses the 'hype' around specific brands, even if the argument is brief.

In America, cheap shitty pastries are ubiquitous. You can get them everywhere. It's not something worth lining up for, especially when the bar is set by the likes of krispy kreme, but you can even get something that cost less, has less pure refined sugar and sneed oils, and tastes better at just about any grocery/convenience store. Even brand chocolate tastes like shit. I don't know why people put up with this dogshit chemical laced bullshit "food". American companies even quickly recipe most of their products with plastic. If you don't eat it fast enough, it'll suck any resemblance of flavor that did happen to be present and replace it with a strong tang that's hard to get rid of..

Fuck. Even zoomer and millennial 90s-2000s nostalgia revolves solely around BRANDS. Why the fuck do you care about the BRAND? What about the actual fucking thing that you were consuming? Why do you give a shit that the poisonous garbage decided to drop the act and go all in on embracing the "all of the shit we give to you has been processed in a factory and designed for maximum output and has several paragraphs worth of bioengineered ingredients" shtick instead of pretending they're a human restaurant piloted and managed by humans

>for breakfast i usually eat a bowl of froot loops with mtn. dew instead of borden's milk. I usually eat three of those before eating two krispy kreme after and then a pop tart.
This doesn't sound normal.
I can't tell what I'm getting at anymore :(
