Passwords for Windows devices are useless
>steal devices
>use command prompt bullshit
>factory reset
>re-sell
what the fuck?
i didn't know that, thanks :)
but i don't think normies don't do this, which actually boggles my mind how uninformed they are. I'm still learning and it wasn't that hard to do lol.
*do btw (-_-)
But yeah normies just refuse to be techy, why fix the problem yourself or bother learning when you can have someone hold your hand the whole way??
Every device that doesn't have full-disk encryption has this problem. The files are unencrypted, so you can just mount them, and access them from a liveUSB. Similarly, you can change the root password on any unencrypted Linux/*BSD installation by just chrooting into the device, and having root access that way. I would even argue it's easier on Linux than on Windows, because it's really just
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
chroot /mnt /bin/sh
passwd root damn. why don't all devices being sold just have full-disk encryption as a default? :0
yeah Linux looks way easier lol
Its better that the encryption is done by the user however he wishes, I wouldn't trust any pre encrypted device even if everything was open source about it, you simply resort to trusting that they didn't rape it on the way to you.
