technical woes thread

Cyberix went down two days ago randomly at 7 AM and I was forced to spend too much time trying to fix it. It wasn't even anybody's fault. The fucking box decided to shit itself and die and it would refuse to start any of our services back up by hanging Podman whenever we tried entering any of the commands.
It wouldn't even let me reset the fucking thing. I installed Docker, and asides from the initial configuration issues that took 3 hours to figure out... it seems to be faster and just work.
Now what I haven't figured out is: Why the fuck did it shit itself at 7 in the morning and refuse to work? What's stopping it from happening again with Docker? Is this just a 'Linux Moment' where things will inexplicably break for no reason whatsoever?
Unsurprisingly, I expect this two day emergency maintenance to kill off whatever flow of traffic we might have had before... but i'm content with lurker supremacy
i think we should redesign cyberix from the ground up again and bring back ~xyst https://web.archive.org/web/20050209083537/http://cy-x.net:80/~xyst/?S=A
no operating system is safe
>Windows moment
when a windows update bricks your computer or a program that you downloaded happens to be a le hecking virus that brings turmmoil to your computer and kills everything
>Linux moment
when linux breaks itself or something does not just werk requiring you to tinkertranny in the terminal for 7 hours only for your problem to be solved by a 15 year old arch linux thread (you aren't even using arch linux) and you wonder why the fuck the official program doesn't even have this issue documented to begin with
this can be avoided by behaving like a normalfag and installing normalfaggot software only ...but you're on linux!
>mac moment
actually i have never used a mac so idk..
wait..
when your macbook keys begin to warp because you decided to watch a youtube video and it got slightly hot
there
>bsd moment
open for any takers
