Good day, what happened to the game servers? i wanted to check them out as i've been eyeing them to the left of this site for some months since i started lurking here (this is my first post).
i hope they are reachable soon, it would be fun to play with some of you :*)

Nobody played on them, so they are not active. Maybe you can reach out via XMPP or IRC and ask to turn OA server back on, though I'm not sure. I haven't played OA for a long time but maybe I'll install it back on my computer and try to join if I'll see someone online here.

oh no, I thought the automatic on-demand gamekeeper system that I implemented would be able to automatically turn the servers back on if a connection was attempted. My apologies.

These should just be kept operational 24/7, like back in the day. People randomly join and it just takes a few to entice others to play. Turning them off and on based on demand requires too much intention for coordinating games. Having an open server just lets randoms pick up and play, which is how it should be.

Try connecting to it a few times. Our automatic gamekeeping system will turn on games after they receive five connection attempts. This does not mean you'll have to see an error message 5 times though, since most game clients try about 3 times before kicking you off.

Yeah just keep trying to connect, and it should turn on after a few tries.

Also I made a thread about the Minecraft server since no one else here made a thread about it.

I would have also written down the installation instructions, but that requires me to relearn how I installed it in the first place, and then write that down, and I'm too lazy to do that.

Maybe I'd just ought to make it so there's a button you can click that turns on the server.
The one thing I don't want to happen though is a bunch of kids deciding to cause some ruckus by turning on all of the game servers at once and overloading it..
