Jumpstarting a potential exodus from 4chan to Cyberix

This thread was inspired by this post:

>That's just the modern internet in general. Website owners know once they have dominance quality doesn't matter because the network effect means that the site and its features aren't what people look for, but many people using it. In fact decreasing quality only benefits them.

>Even on 4chan you see it, being the dominant english imageboard and still making money 4chan and its owners don't have to give the faintest shit. More than over a decade since new board banners were added. Site code as a whole untouched until a couple of bored soijak posters took it down.

>Sure other sites are there and some with better features like altchans, but no one will even look, why would they, slow site. Network effect at play again. So no reason to care, but plenty of reason to enshittify, increases retention. >Even google does it, more time needed to find what you want equals more ads served.

Cyberix is a forum/imageboard hybrid that prioritizes quality over quantity.
Many individuals within Cyberix respect the contributions of anonymous posters.
These same individuals also give respect for posters who go out into the wastelands of 4chan, find good threads, and repost them here in the pursuit of true permanent archival and rejuvenated discussion of the relevant topic.

This last point is what I believe will kickstart a slow but consistent exodus from 4chan's massacred boards to Cyberix.

What we do know:
4chan has a public API that allows you to grab everything you can see as visited on boards.4chan.org
This API is well documented and has been present since 2012
This API is so open that it was also used as a way for pedophile CP spammers to easily torture the site since 2022

With this in mind,

Cyberix could, easily implement a new tree for certain 4chan boards, where:
1 - Every 10 minutes or as manually triggered with an [Update] (heavily cached and ratelimited), retrieve 4chan data from certain boards of related Cyberix interest along with thread contents.
2 - Implement a community moderation system that allows garbage threads and posts to be naturally filtered out.
2 (alt) Implement vote-to-archive, like the old 4chan-archive website from 2005 where the community would vote for whether or not a thread deserved to be saved, but, vote-to-archive is more like vote-to-absorb, where the thread is now taken and absorbed into the Cyberix Network, added seamlessly and permanently as its own standalone thread, serving as both an archive and a permanent way to save what 'gems' do persist on the wasteland that is modern 4chan, allowing newcomers to contribute easily.

If enough attention is brought to the presence of this system, it could easily allow anons to abandon their home boards and post on Cyberix instead. Why?

1: The same threads are present on Cyberix, along with everything else Cyberix provides.
2: Only the good threads remain present on Cyberix, because Cyberix acts more like a traditional forum instead of letting threads bump off of page 10
3: Threads can be moderated post-save, allowing flamewars and garbage to be cleaned out from good threads
4: Perhaps if a community voting system was implemented, downvoted posts would not make the save prior to archival, which allows the community to act as the true janny in places where 4chan's moderation fails

I don't mind the concept of saving good threads, but how is this functionally any different to a cherrypicked archive site with some discussion? If the point is generating discussion, just take that topic and do a writeup here. The users are the problem for me, and I don't agree with facilitating an exodus or a bridge with 4channel for users here. What made boards, such as /g/, good, were the lack of bots and shills. Sure, you got a handful of the same retards posting the same things over and over, but you could pick these users out instantly. A very large portion of the time you got effortposting threads. At this moment from a glance, excluding the generals, I can see maybe, three decent threads, and one good thread. The generals are one of the only reasons I still visit the site, because you usually get the same small number of people, and a few newcomers here and there, visiting who want a place to discuss said topic. This is what this website should be, with some form of elitism in users to produce high quality posting, the downside being the lack of quantity. lainchan was made at the beginning of the decline of /g/, for good reason, and in my opinion, is an example of a good consolidated userbase. Users post on altchans to escape the cesspit, and have either arrived there autonomously or have been directed by other anons. Don't bring the cessbit here. 4chan is a sinking ship. it is not what it was. Find the content yourself on 4chan, fine. Just make a thread here.

The admin here should really consider changing the layout. I liked the last one more. It at least has to be a little recognizable.

I find it funny how 4chan behaves like the popular social media platforms with their addictive variable-ratio schedule algorithms just by 19/20 threads being terrible. Filters help just like blocklists do on Twitter, but you can't escape the average social media user being uninteresting.
Every year or two I hop back on for a month, find myself addicted, and rip myself out of the trap. Food pepes are sorta funny (had to scroll for 20 minutes to find this, my head hurts)

A limited archive is good for its own sake, but no exodus is precipitated by combining this website's(assumed) above average dialogue with a mirror of some 4ch boards. If I want to read 4chan threads I will go on 4chan. Even seeing the list of boards(btw, /diy/ & /k/ but no /o/? cars are halfway between home improvement and guns) on the sidebar is just reminding me i haven't visited /fa/ in a while. I hope this site becomes a robust discussion with distinct character from the rest of the web including 4ch, like my favorite 4ch boards are.
