Captchas are only annoying if you use a board/forum like fucking discord and make inane one liner posts instead of putting some effort into your posts, since solving a captcha takes as much time and mental energy as making a (shit)post.

I hate the big mainstream platforms and I've always had a preference for imageboards and forums. But the whole dead internet theory thing really worries me. I don't know how real this forum is. I don't know if this whole thing here is just some weird experiment where most of the users are actually bots. But even if this forum is real and the operators are honest, it's still no problem for others to run bots here. Since AI came along, forums have lost a significant amount of authenticity for me. How do others deal with this reality? (And off course I'm not talking about the obvious bots like in OP.)

I once proposed locking the forum down behind a password. #cyberix-team and #public being named #public was an example of this.
All systems are in place for me to go through with this at any time.

you forgot to cherrypick the fun of that particular spam post: nouras 1 rare piece of fruit. empathically enjoyed by the spam consumer. i think spam posts should be curated instead of removed.

how do people solve the challenge to get the daily fresh password?

yes, nouras 1 rare piece of fruit and her addiction on russian gambling sites. all while she works her ass off at the shawarma restaurant. koudos to eating only that 1 rare piece of fruit instead of the vegatables you chop everyday, noura.

I never really came up with that part. I was thinking it was going to be more "manual" where you could find the password by participating in the community. Playing on the game servers, talking in chat and asking for the password.. I don't know. But obviously it doesn't scale well.
An automatic password given to you for solving a captcha doesn't seem that bad, though.

admin and thread opener in a state of joyful synthesis.
dont forget to curate/edit spam posts instead of coppicing; exaggerate them and mark them with a funny banner. some schizophrenic people could be hired for that job. dr reaper could guide with spotting logical errors in spam posts.

yeah, but we still don't know if the operators of this site are honest. weird things are happening here. i think i just must assume this is (like every other forum) a potential AI experiment.

since everyone wants the funny banner with random quotes back, you could source more material from curated spam posts.

that should deter the scrapers.

I wonder where I'd put it.
Some people said that the site "lost it's soul" somehow when the new UI was released.
It is a whole lot faster and easier to use..
I considered putting all of the old sidebar stuff in the blank space below the Cyberix Message System category, but I didn't do it because I started thinking about "what if i add more boards or categories in the future"
