You're picky and possibly a glutton perhaps. Sweets are sweets, unless stale pretty much any fried yeast donut is gonna be fine, the tier only drops when you get to factory farmed prepackaged cake donuts

If you're into jelly, the filling can differ too some places like Circle K use this shitty paste instead of actual jelly filling but other than that, deep fried yeast with sugar dust glaze or icing is pretty uniform

They're not great but they are better than you would expect. The Bavarian Cremes are very good, especially for the price. Nothing beats a hot glazed from Krispy Kreme. I ate them so often I got invited to join the Krispy Kreme Klub.

If you're in the US just find any small, asian run place: korean, cambodian, chinese, and vietnamese. All are better than krispymeme and dunkin.

This, I don't know why because most other pastries are fine for a couple of days. But there is a massive gap in quality of a donut fresh out of the fryer or even an hour old and one that is half a day old. It's a shame but in todays zoom zoom world where people don't have the time or care to stop and sit down and appreciate a fresh donut they really are a failed product. Someone needs to reinvent them and find a way to make them last longer.

The bakery I go to in Brooklyn for my pita and multigrain bread, by the 5th Ave entrance to Greenwood has good donuts.
