I just have a single patch panel that can hold 16 keystone jacks like a normal person; and i personally ran 10 lines of cat6. There is a 6 keystone jack wall plate in my livingroom that has 3x ethernet, 1x coax (split from an adapter at my rack), 1 USB and 1 HDMI because you never know when you want to connect a server to the big screen. Do i ever do it? No but its there if i want to lmao
My switches are basic bitch TP link managed, i got 3 of them and you can fit 2 in a 1U space and whilst i do use VLANS, i just like these shitty switches to keep important shit physically separated as well. I have a dell optiplex micro that runs a 24/7 stream, a basic shitbox as a NAS and automation server, a Fortigate 60F (i got the 1U adapter to make shit clean), some random security shit, like NVRs, a BananaPi R3 mini is also racked in half a U and hosts some handy stuff (Flask API, forgejo, openldaps, web server with php support, AdGuardHome), a networked cyberpower PDU and a cyberpower UPS that keeps everything important like internet and network up for 3.5 hours on utility line failure

If thats the case and its not 'CCTV' but something like IP cameras, i recommend either go2rtc or OBS >How much did your UPS cost you? tldr: $280 $150 for a swollen 2U UPS on ebay and the seller actually offered free shipping and left the network management card in (those things alone are worth at least $150). SLA batteries were shot, i had to chisel them out and replaced them with 4x 12v 10Ah LiFePO4's with BMS protection ($130). With these new batteries I ran utility line failure tests and the uptime for my network was 3.5 hours (powered a fortigate 60f, 3 small switches, modem, wifi AP, a tiny linux box, a dell optiplex micro, my networked PDU, and a 90 watt PoE injector that poweres 4 IP cameras)

I don't use UPS anymore bcause I live innacity and power almost never runs out like 2 years uptime easy. I do have couple of small solar panels on the balcony to offset the cost of running "server" at home, also use old xiaomi scooter as storage battery. Whole system is totally useless and will never pay out off but it's still cool in a way. Scooter can run "server", cable modem and mikrotik router for about 5 hours. Server looks proper since in 4U rack case but has low power board and picopsu, draws 15w with 8tb hdd and sata ssd.
