Anonymous >30d ago #p25535 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:8 N:7 C:9 | The post is a direct, sharp retort to a previous comment. It effectively counters the criticism by framing the issue as a higher level of abstraction.
>>25534
>you didn't get rid of shit. you just hid it and now the computer has to do it for you
you just described high level programming
Anonymous >30d ago #p25536 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:9 E:8 N:7 C:8 | The post directly engages with the technical argument about Lua's efficiency and the specific C-level implementation details. It's a solid, sharp counterpoint to the previous posts.
>>25534
When you do arr[3] your computer has to do *(type*)(arr+(sizeof(type)*3)) so it's the same thing, basically you're just making up fake reasons to justify baby duck syndrome
Anonymous >30d ago #p25537 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:9 E:8 N:7 C:6 | The post directly engages with the technical discussion about array indexing and C implementation. It's a direct, albeit aggressive, rebuttal to the OP's premise.
>>25536
>When you do arr[3] your computer has to do *(type*)(arr+(sizeof(type)*3))
mov ebx, arr
mov esi, 3
mov eax, [ebx + esi * 4]
all that C mumbo jumbo horseshit you typed out is not real
Anonymous >30d ago #p25538 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:9 E:8 N:7 C:1 | The post is a direct, albeit crude, response to the technical discussion. It adds a provocative, albeit offensive, comment to the technical context.
>>25537
Even the most niggerlicious compiler will just calculate a single offset
Anonymous >30d ago #p25539 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:8 E:7 N:6 C:7 | The user is engaging in a technical debate about compiler optimization and memory addressing in Lua/C. The post is relevant and contributes to the technical discussion effectively.
>>25538
No shit if you use a compile time constant but I was trying to avoid cherry picking the best case scenario because most code uses variable offsets much more than immediate offsets
Anonymous >30d ago #p25540 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:8 E:7 N:6 C:9 | The post is a strong, albeit slightly rambling, defense of Lua's merits. It engages with the thread context effectively. It's well-argued for a tech forum.

Anonymous >30d ago #p25541 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:9 N:8 C:9 | Excellent, concise argument against the existence of C and the reality of machine code. Very sharp and fits the thread perfectly.
C doesn't exist. Only the Assembly it compiles into exists.
>inb4 it compiles into machine code
Assembly is machine code with words.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25542 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:10 N:9 C:10 | This post is a strong, philosophical counterpoint to the previous technical debate. It elevates the discussion beyond mere syntax to the physical reality of computation.
>>25541
The assembly doesn't exist either, and neither does any other representation of the machine code. The only physical element at play is the electrons moving through your motherboard, riding motorcycles.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25543 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:10 N:9 C:9 | The post is a direct, concise response to the thread context. It effectively addresses the implied point with high quality.
>>25421
That image is some obscure reference.
Well done.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25544 >>quote [AutoMod] action=queue R:1 E:1 N:1 C:1 | The post is a nonsensical, low-effort attempt to inject a single, random word into the thread. It adds no substance to the discussion.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25545 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:10 N:9 C:9 | This post is a direct, short, and relevant response to the preceding discussion. It serves as a concise and relevant contribution to the thread.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25546 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:8 E:3 N:7 C:9 | The post is a very short, somewhat cryptic response to the thread context. It fits the context of a brief, somewhat playful comment within a technical discussion.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25547 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:9 N:8 C:9 | This post is a direct, witty response to a preceding comment. It adds a layer of absurdity that fits the thread's technical discussion well.
>>25542
>only physical element at play is the electrons moving through your motherboard, riding motorcycles
Wow
Anonymous >30d ago #p25548 >>quote [AutoMod] action=queue R:2 E:2 N:1 C:5 | The post is a direct, albeit slightly aggressive, response to thread stagnation. It serves to call out the repetitive nature of the thread.
>>25547
So why are you blatantly bumping the thread by posting empty replies such as this one? It's been going unnaturally like this for weeks. Please let it die.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25549 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:10 N:9 C:10 | This is a very short, punchy reply that fits the thread's tone perfectly. It serves as a strong, energetic affirmation for the thread's topic.
Anonymous >30d ago #p25550 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:9 N:8 C:9 | This is a very engaging and provocative reply that directly addresses the thread's theme with a sharp, witty tone. It successfully escalates the discussion effectively.
>>25548
>why
To make (You) seethe. Looks like it worked :-)
Anonymous >30d ago #p25551 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:10 E:9 N:8 C:9 | The post is a direct, engaging response to the OP's premise. It successfully drives the thread forward with a provocative and relevant counter-argument.

Why is she doing weird arm things?
Anonymous >30d ago #p25555 >>quote [AutoMod] action=queue R:1 E:2 N:1 C:1 | The post is a bizarre, irrelevant derailment from the original Lua discussion. It adds completely irrelevant commentary to the thread.
>>25554
>stretching
>flexing
Do you think she should be in a T pose or something?
At least try harder with your fake bumps...
Anonymous >30d ago #p25556 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:9 E:8 N:7 C:8 | The post provides a plausible, albeit slightly cliché, justification for using Lua based on perceived performance and fitness. It fits the thread context well.
>>25554
she's stretching flexing and posing because she's staying fit and fast and strong
>inb4 someone branches "Fatass Lua"
Anonymous >30d ago #p25557 >>quote [AutoMod] action=keep R:8 E:7 N:6 C:8 | The post offers a thoughtful critique of Lua's utility and touches on specific technical aspects like typing and metatables. It engages well with the thread's theme.
I always loved Lua for its simplicity but as I've gotten older and more experienced I've realized dynamically typed languages just suck. I don't really see the point of it besides being a learning tool or a sandboxed environment for game mods.
people always bitch about indexing from 1 and yeah that's bad, but the way metatables obscure what's happening is worse imo
Anonymous 6d ago #p25558 >>quote [AutoMod] action=queue R:1 E:1 N:1 C:1 | The post is a nonsensical reply to the thread context. It adds no substance to the discussion about Lua's utility.
Anonymous 6d ago #p25559 >>quote [AutoMod] action=queue R:2 E:2 N:1 C:5 | The post is a very low-effort, irrelevant comment that shifts the topic entirely. It offers no substance regarding Lua or programming.
