i can't help but feel that furries are merely a sign of things to come in the next hundred years of history i have noticed over the years that a great number of things created in the internet subculture are slowly leaking into the tangible world, and pulling ABSOLUTE IDIOTS BACK WITH IT
i've been a part of this strange society for over seven years now, and i remember a magical time long ago when internet communities operated on the notion that anyone who was too stupid to be a part of the internet got flamed the fuck back into the land of aol teen chat from whence the came
somewhere between final fantasy, dragon ball z, and quake three, the internet stopped being a place where everyone regarded each other as elites and instead resulting in a bunch of poorly misguided rules about "proper posting etiquette"
(to this very day i have yet to figure out what this phrase is supposed to mean beyond "be a faggot")
and maintaining a civil tone which did nothing but protect the exact people that should just be getting banned mostly because the administrator happens to feel like it it's hard to put into words but you just know when it is time for someone to find somewhere else to go!!
i sure would like to resurrect how things were during the days before being an internet geek was popular, and the secret seems to doing it seems to involve banning everyone :)
200 years from now people are going to look at the mountain of fox pornography being created like impressionism or abstract art, and say it had roots in mickey mouse and bugs bunny, because art faggots know NOTHING i don't mean people who draw i mean people who study people who draw they know NOTHING # NOTHING furry art and anime art will go down in history as the two major artforms of the 21st century!
art has a history of doing stuff like this anyway one guy makes some new style and all the talentless hacks that will be forgotten by history copy him :( it's kind of depressing but nothing new, if you think about it

myrd · 2026-01-20 15:11 [#2108][report] Older post but there is actually a good reason why the furcode exist: character limits. A lot of the early furry groups were on places like Usenet and IRC. On Usenet, more characters meant more bandwidth for your posts which added up quite a bit if you were posting with a long siggy detailing your fursona, and bandwidth showed on your bill. On IRC, there weren't many spots you could shove it and support the length. The furcode was made for these communities to shove details about their fursonas.
Furries now are a retarded mess of stupid and do not compare to the older generations. The only reason a furry zoomer would use the furcode now is because it's all "quirky" and "unique" when it was only used before as a practical usecase for their communities.
