For reference:
I type above 150wpm on a laptop.
I type around 60-80wpm on my touchscreen smartphone.
I type around 10-16wpm on my dumbphone with predictive typing enabled on the keypad. Obviously, I type much slower with regular multi-tap.
I feel like this is a significant handicap and could be potentially dangerous if I ever find myself in an emergency or a critical situation where I need to tell someone something very important immediately.. “with no time to waste”.
I’ve only had this device for about five days. I’m sure there’s a way to type faster on the keypad, or somehow lessen the amount of time needed to navigate the device overall, but the slowness I’m feeling while using this device makes it very difficult to consider bringing it out in public compared to the smartphone. That’s the only obstacle I have right now. Everything else about the device is perfect.
What should I do? Advice deeply appreciated.
How do you handle emergencies when using a dumbphone?
