My extended family stayed at a hotel right across the street from the hospital that was taking care of my grandmother when she was dying of cancer. I was six and there was a waffle house nearby that I got massive waffles from and pored through the hospitals VHS library. I was a little too young to really know what was happening but having giant waffles from Waffle House while watching Robocop 2 and walking around the hospital at night really stuck with me from that time. I think it was probably THE thing that got me to really like waffles over pancakes.

If I didn't know better, I'd say it was illegal to open one in Michigan. Not a single one to be seen, then you step into Ohio and there's 4 of them in Toledo alone.
