seperate partition is wrong here because it uses BTRFS features but you get the point

we should implement laws that say every car must have some sort of manual overwrite that just disables all the "smart" shit and lets you drive "analogue"
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-22 09:07:19
>car is going to lock itself while it updates and you won't be able to get out, lol
This is a fucking joke.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-22 09:21:01
can't you just disconnect the vehicle from the internet? Realistically you don't need a car connected to the internet if you also have a phone with you.

Why would I, as a corrupt lawmaker, pass such a law? Smart vehicles allow corporations to explo- I mean provide additional value to the consumer, which means they have more money to treat me to expensive dinners with young girls. Through these vehicle manufacturers we can track catt- I mean potential terrorists and if need be eliminate them remotely without endangering law enforcement. These features are necessary for safety and like seatbelts they will be soon be required by law.

the term is analog, not “analogue” ESL-tard
“I have a analogue to this ingredient for my dish”
“The earliest computers used analog circuits for bit arithmetic”

why did she buy such a shit car just to complain about it like she couldnt think this would happen just from seeing the screen?
i will never buy a car made after like 2010 theyre shit from then on too much emissions bs that can go wrong, egr valves, adblue systems. all these things that just make the car break sooner. plus i dont like power steering it feels way too light and floaty. i will keep buying shitboxes until i die even if they become super expensive i dont care. they feel nicer to drive and are far more reliable. mechanics also love working on them because they are simpler. a lot of these newer electric cars cant even be repaired
i like a gear sticks, i like radio buttons, i like having actual door handles all things that no longer exist. along with that all new cars are required to have facial tracking cameras. or there was that recent death in a golf van because the lane change assist system got stuck on and drove a van into an oncoming vehicle killing 3 of the 4 occupants. wouldnt happen in an old shitbox

Analogue is the typical UK spelling for either, anon.

If I were a car company I'd just notify that there's an update available and ask if the owner wants to update the next time they start the car up, and just keep nagging them if they say no. Annoying, sure, but not as annoying as not having my car available when I need it
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-22 14:33:22
The owner chose to update now. They could have opted for later like the GMC website states for that car. If it was an emergency you wouldn't update. It doesn't auto update itself with no option. OP's pic is literally twitter ragebait.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-22 14:41:18
Why would pick anything other than update at park? What would you gain from doing it at the start of a drive cycle?
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-22 14:45:55
>Send troops to go kill antisemitic luddites
>Mass transport vehicle needs an update
>Troops have to stand by
>get the update installed, take off immediately
>Error with the update
>tire pressure gauges broken, saying 0 pounds despite full
>car disables itself so as not to damage the perfectly usable tires
>troops have to get out on foot to find the luddites
>after a while of searching they come across a luddite
>They yell 'hands up jew haters!"
>They go to pull the trigger on their weapons
>error screen pops up on the rifles Smart LED screen
>Latest trigger patch they downloaded earlier that day failed to install
>triggers don't work
>Other luddites show up as all the soldiers are just standing there trying to pull their triggers
>Luddites jut run up and hit them all in the head with rocks
>Luddites won

Updates are good. Computer shit in motor vehicles is where the problem is.

I am convinced everyone calling out ESLs on this site is just a projecting ESL themselves because not only do natives not care or even notice minor grammar mistakes but you also just expose yourself in posts like this as not even knowing british English yourself
